At Reipon’s request, Sano designed and made her wedding dress – creating a pattern based on Reipon’s wishes and tailoring it. Initially, a biodegradable, cultured material was going to be used. However, they thought the dress should be worn many times after the ceremony until it becomes tattered, rather than composting it straight away, so they chose a 100% organic linen that can easily be returned to earth. For the fabric, they went to visit a factory in a traditional linen weaving area in Shiga Prefecture, and the company, Hayashiyo kindly weaved a material that would suit the dress for them.
